" Forest berries on the nose A bit shy nose Dark berries, spices, vanilla, chocolate finish Complex medium palate, good finish, acidity and tannin are in balance Simple and allaround wine "

Hester Creek Cabernet Sauvignon 2023

The Hester Creek Cabernet Sauvignon 2023 is a little shy at first, with forest berries on the nose.

It opens up more on the palate, where I find dark berries, spices and a touch of vanilla, followed by a nice hint of chocolate towards the finish.

It has a medium-bodied palate with decent complexity, good acidity and tannins that are nicely in balance.

Nothing here is particularly dramatic or challenging, but it is an easy-going, well-rounded wine that simply works.

For me, this is very much a Tuesday wine – something you can open without thinking too much about it, and it will go nicely with dinner.

I also noticed quite a lot of sediment in the bottle, so I would definitely decant it carefully.

A simple and well-balanced Cabernet Sauvignon with dark berries, spice, vanilla and chocolate on the finish.

An uncomplicated everyday wine.
