I am a trained sommelier with a long-standing interest in wine, food, and the places where they come from. Over time, that interest has taken me to many wine regions, but one place in particular has captured my attention: the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia, Canada. I have visited the valley six times, exploring vineyards, tasting wines, and spending time learning about the people and the landscape that shape the region. What struck me from the beginning was the combination of dramatic nature, a unique climate, and a young wine culture that is still evolving. My sommelier thesis focused on wines from Oliver, British Columbia in the South Okanagan. Working on this project allowed me to study the region more closely and deepened my interest in how Okanagan wines express their terroir. This website grew out of that curiosity. Here I write about the wines of British Columbia, the wineries I visit, and the people behind them. My goal is simply to share knowledge and experiences from a region that deserves far more attention among wine lovers. Wine, for me, has always been closely connected to food, travel, and culture. The Okanagan brings all of these elements together in a way that I find endlessly fascinating.
